Red Roof Inn Wheelersburg

I stayed here a few days after a power outage. The place was decent, neither clean nor filthy. They kept my $100 cash deposit because I didn’t come back to collect it the next morning. After giving me a dozen excuses, they said all deposits go to their church and they couldn’t return it. Don’t trust them.

The breakfast had fruit, a hot sausage and egg sandwich, cereal, honey buns, muffins, coffee, juice, and I think oatmeal. The front desk was always kind and helpful, and it’s a nice, quiet area. You can bring your dog with a deposit. The AC units have timers, which confused me at first. The pool, rooms, and sheets were clean. The main problem seemed to be the outlets, like at all the Red Roofs. Some had nowhere to plug in, or seemed blown. In room 122, there was nowhere to plug the microwave into the wall. Still, don’t pass this one by.

I took photos of stains on both bedspreads and showed the woman at the front desk, but she didn’t want to see them or hear about my complaints. The room wasn’t very clean: there was a dead silverfish on the floor, the toilet paper holder had come completely out of the wall, and the towels and washcloths were frayed around the edges. There were used Q-tips in the parking lot outside our room. The whole thing was really disgusting, and I’ll never go back.

Don’t waste your money. The room was filthy, with dried blood on the pillow and dirty sheets. The floors looked like they hadn’t been swept in weeks. Customer service was awful, and after I was charged twice, trying to get a refund became a nightmare.
