Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Greenville by IHG

The lighting in this room is dim everywhere. The bedside lamps are yellow, the desk lights barely help, and even the supplemental touch light at its brightest setting doesn’t make much difference. The corner lamp won’t plug in because its prongs are bent. I could have put up with the lighting, but the screws holding the security door stop are coming out of the wall. I still had to get through the night, so I planned to go to a store for extra security and intended to post pictures and a video on social media for my own protection. There wasn’t a place to upload video. My last visit was good, but this room tonight was substandard. Later, Jay at the front desk tried to screw the door stop back in, but it was still very loose. He said he’d put in a work order and gave us a second room. The lights there were much better, and its door stop worked properly.

The key card reader was the main hassle. One card took about seven tries, then the replacement needed five more before the door opened. Several nearby door scanners looked outdated too, so newer ones would make getting into rooms much easier. Otherwise, the hotel was very nice. The lot was spotless, and the bright, clean lobby looked well cared for. Housekeeping deserves credit, and the front desk team was especially welcoming, making check-in smooth. With an upgrade to the key system, this already clean, friendly property would feel more complete and professional.

We stayed two nights at the Greenville, Texas location and gave it five stars. The room had plenty of space and the bed was really comfortable. I like the Dove products Hilton provides, though I could’ve used a small bar of soap. I also didn’t realize my spouse had reserved a suite, or I would’ve brought paper towels for the kitchen/bar counter.

The staff did the best they could with what they had. My door lock was broken for all five days, and maintenance couldn’t fix it because the owner hadn’t provided a spare part or money for the repair. They were sold out, so they couldn’t move me. The toilet kept trickling and refilling all day.
