Quality Inn

The staff are what really stood out. Donnie went above and beyond for my group, and the overnight and early morning staff member was just as helpful, though I’m sorry I didn’t get their name. Whenever I had a question or needed something, they helped right away and were professional about it. This was my second stay, and both visits were pleasant. It’s handy if you’re without a car and want to take the bus into Portland. The pool and spa were nice, and the free breakfast helped my group out. The quiet setting and comfortable bed and pillows let me sleep well. I plan to stay here when I’m in the Gresham area.

Breakfast had eggs, milk, waffles, and apples, and when I got confused using the waffle maker and its reminder function, a restaurant staff member came over quickly and helped with a smile. I’d picked a room I didn’t like, which was random and my fault, but the front desk woman gently helped me switch after asking where I’d prefer to stay. I said somewhere closer to the middle. The staff were kind and quick to help, and I’d like to come back next time.

We felt out of place as soon as we arrived. No one was at the desk for over 10 minutes, then a man appeared and acted like helping us was a bother. He wasn’t warm or accommodating, and explained the policies as if I should already know them. I mentioned it was for my daughter’s birthday, and his response was, “just don’t use glitter.” The place felt stiff and dead quiet, like somewhere older people go. I’d booked online because I wanted to see the hotel and ask about early check-in, knowing it might not be possible. After leaving, I canceled the reservation. I couldn’t picture spending money there, and wouldn’t recommend it, especially for families with kids.

I was in Gresham for an outpatient procedure at the nearby hospital, and getting there from the hotel was easy. There are also plenty of nearby places to find food or other items. The room was spacious and clean, everything worked, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Skyler at the desk was especially helpful when I needed to return to the hospital for a post-surgery issue. If I need a place in Gresham again, I’ll choose Quality Inn.
