Holiday Inn Express Grove City by IHG

Everything was great, from the friendly staff and amenities to the super clean rooms and shopping center right nearby. My only gripe was the toilets. After flushing, they keep making noise for two minutes. I got bored and timed it, no joke.

We got in after a long day of driving, hoping for a clean, comfortable bed. The room looked like someone had already been using it that day: the toilet lid was up, the bowl was dirty, and there were pubic hairs scattered around the bathroom. Check out how the bed and towels were stored. I asked the front desk for another room and was told, “oh your room was cleaned, just not very good”. I've included a few photos. I'll add more after trying to sleep. I also noticed that some of the plugs are actually just decorative wall plates.

We usually make Grove City our first night when driving from Florida to Ontario, Canada along 79, even if we don't arrive until around 8:30 at night. It's a convenient, quiet road-trip stop just off the highway, close to restaurants, gas stations, and the outlets. The price is decent, the bed is very comfortable, and the carpet in the hotel smells brand new. Breakfast is included and starts at 6:00 am. We'll stay again.

We chose this hotel because of all the great reviews, but paying more to avoid cleanliness problems was a disappointment. We prepaid, then got charged again by mistake. They said the payment hadn't gone through, but after checkout I had to call because the money had been deducted from our account. It's now back to “pending”. There were dirty shoe prints right outside the shower, no hand soap in the dispenser, and a dirty-looking fridge with someone else's leftover food inside. When I told the front desk about the food, they said not to worry and promised “a bunch of points” for my account, but I still haven't seen them.
