Econo Lodge Augusta West near Fort Gordon

The staff were polite and helpful, and the location works well for trips to Atlanta, Helen, Savannah, and parts of South Carolina. Still, with several other hotels along the same strip, I'd choose one of those if you have the option. This place is okay when the others are full. The main issue is the smell on the second floor. Other reviews are right about the mold or mildew odor, and a room up there may smell like cat litter. The beds were clean and comfortable, though the desk chair was kind of gross. For longer stays, rooms are cleaned every three days, and there's no door card to request service, so you have to ask the front desk for anything extra. There's a large Roku TV in the rooms. Laundry means using the only washer and dryer, on the first floor, and they're quarters only. If you need more laundry options or don't have quarters, Peanut's Laundry is down the road. The shower was hot or warm early in the morning, but could be a bit cold later. I didn't try breakfast, but heard it was mostly breads and that you make your own waffles from bottled batter. Waffle House is right next door if you'd rather go there. In Thomson, GA, Emma's Breakfast Cafe had the best grits I had on my trip.

No smoking 😭, but otherwise it's a really nice place. The beds were comfy enough that I kept snoozing my alarm, and the shower pressure was so strong I nearly ran when the water hit my back 🤣 Book your room today! 🙃 😅

After paying $120 at a nearby Wyndham hotel for a room with dried food stains and no hot water, I came over to Econo Lodge. This place was worth the money. The room was clean, spacious, a little modern, and everything worked. The A/C was very good, the area felt safe, and the staff were attentive. I'd stay here again without hesitation.

The front desk man and woman treated us like family, and they were awesome. The hotel was neat and clean, with more room space at a low cost. This is the best place to stay in Augusta during a visit. I'll be back.
