Beachview

Our room was small but okay. There was just one towel and washcloth for two people staying two nights. Our vehicle and several others were also towed without warning. The sign says no trucks but doesn’t explain that it means all trucks, not only commercial ones. Hosts should tell tourists about truck parking before they make the drive to Gulf Shores.

The best thing about this Airbnb was how close it was to the beach. The building felt old and ragged, kind of like a college dorm, with young people often standing around who looked sketchy. The rooms were cramped and sticky, and the whole place badly needs renovation. The parking garage below was so tight that I parked in the side lot because I was afraid of hitting someone. I was scared to use the bathroom there, so I went to Target instead.

It’s an older complex, maybe a former hotel, but the units are nicely kept up. Our room and the stairwells were clean, and there was plenty of parking underneath and across the street. The beach is across the street too, with several restaurants a short walk away.

We stayed for two days, four people total. There were only two towels for us, and nobody had said to bring our own. The pull-out couch linens smelled like urine, so we didn’t use them. I left them on the bathroom floor when we checked out, hoping they’d be washed for the next guest. I leave places as I found them, but afterward I got an awful guest review claiming I left a mess and trash everywhere. That was a lie. I left the place clean and put trash in the bins. I wouldn’t recommend this rental now. Guests shouldn’t be treated that way, and the listing needs to be clearer.
