The warm hallway wasn’t a problem since I didn’t book a hotel to hang out there. My room’s AC worked well, and the clean, comfortable room had a very comfortable king bed that let me sleep well. The bathroom and shower were fine, and I didn’t see any bugs. I was on a vacation road trip for one night, looking for the cheapest clean place, and I’m glad I chose this one. The front desk ladies were friendly and helpful, and they let me use the pool even though I arrived late. The pool was heated, so a night swim was comfortable, and the hot tub was wonderfully relaxing. I didn’t try the sauna, but assume it would have been fine. Reviews always make me worry when I’m choosing a place, but I was very pleased with my stay.

It was an okay room apart from a few issues. The stairwell and second-floor hallway had no AC, and the bedding had stains near some of the hems. Although the rooms are marked nonsmoking, the decorative bed cover had cigarette burns. The shower head was loose and had no fitting to secure it to the wall, so it moved around. We also had a power outage on the first night that lasted around 40 seconds to a minute. The Wi-Fi connection still showed the name La Quinta Inn, which this hotel used to be.

The whole stay was a nightmare. The total was $105 more than the amount quoted by phone. We were told we could speak with the manager in the morning, but had to sign the check-in paperwork, so we did. In the room, a clear bucket sat under the AC. By morning it was overflowing and the carpet was soaked. The front desk offered us a room across the hall, so we moved everything, but that room was smaller and already had a water mark on the ceiling. Staff said it wasn’t leaking anymore. Later that day, fire ants attacked me as I went out the side door, and I had to be rushed to the ER because I was going into anaphylactic shock. My husband reported it, and the response was, “we will spray again.” The bathroom door wouldn’t shut because the jamb was torn up. While I was in bed, someone entered our room because the latch didn’t catch properly. It happened twice more over the next five days. After heavy rain, the ceiling water mark grew to three times its size. The front desk came to look and said, “it will be fine.” The much-praised breakfast was dry mini muffins and hard bagels. The manager was always unavailable when we tried to discuss these problems. Back home, we disputed the charge, but after four weeks the bank wouldn’t keep fighting the hotel, and we had to pay the higher amount. Do not stay here. You’ll be sorry, as we were.

The night clerk who checked us in was friendly and very helpful. The woman on the day shift, who I think was the manager, was rude and acted like she was better than everyone else. We chose this motel for my grandbaby’s first vacation, from July 27, 2014 through August 1, 2014, because it had an indoor pool. The photos don’t do the place justice, but not in a good way. There was trash under the bed and beside the wall, moldy candy at the head of the bed, broken electrical sockets, and lint-packed AC filters that kept the air from working right. We were in room 109, and I was very unhappy with the motel. My husband even changed the receptacle cover plate while we were there. I’d like to know how to get my money back. I’ll never stay here again.

The walk to the room was dirty, and the room itself had no refrigerator or hair dryer. The AC didn’t work, and there was no phone, though the desk clerk fixed the AC and phone despite being the only person staffing the property. Upper management seems not to care about the place. It wasn’t clean, and the elevator inspection was out of date. I won’t stay there again.
