The beach access and closeness to amenities, attractions, and the airport were positives at Gulf Village Condominium 1027 W Beach Blvd, Gulf Shores, AL 36542. The building is older and has been through storms. Seeing the entry door made me hope the inside would be better. The unit was clean, but it clearly hadn’t had a deep clean in a long time. The couch was worn out and poor quality, and both bed mattresses sagged in the middle and squeaked badly. The main sliding door was broken and hard to lock, so we only used the bedroom slider. The toilet had no handle, just a rod, but they fixed it within a day. The kitchen had plenty of good cooking options, and having a washer and dryer was appreciated. The patio furniture was nice and good quality. The dishwasher wasn’t secured properly and tipped forward when opened. The pool wasn’t clean. Other tenants said the larger end units were nice, but also had bad mattresses. If you want a newer place with higher quality, this isn’t it. Be careful with unit 114, it will disappoint.

The view from unit 214 was the best. Take the elevator down and you’re just steps from the sand. The ocean facing balcony was fabulous, and the unit itself was clean, homey, and really nice. Check-in was easy, which we appreciated, and we had a wonderful time. We’ll definitely be back. Just a couple of small suggestions: add a blanket for the sofa bed and maybe a bigger skillet, new cookie sheets, and a few extra kitchen items for people who cook on vacation. The condo is beautiful, highly recommend!

It’s a nice spot for a lowkey vacation if you’re okay with a small condo building and fewer amenities than a resort. We were fine with that. There’s an elevator, which we had wondered about, and private beach access helps keep foot traffic down. The pool needs to be drained and repainted, and its lighting needs updating. Fixing up the pool would make this five stars for me.

Fishing in the lagoon was a nice bonus, and the beach is just across the street. Gulf Village #7 has been remodeled well and felt comfortable during our stay.

The beach view and how close it is are excellent. The units are older, though, and there’s no elevator. On our floor, the only coin-operated washer and dryer weren’t lit at all.
