Island Royale P504 by RedAwning

P 501 was probably one of the worst condos I’ve stayed in. It was extremely outdated, the fridge leaked, and the ice maker sounded like a plane taking off at 1:00 in the morning. The shower heads were harsh, and the furniture was cheap and smelled bad. The couches inside and out were stained and gross, and none were comfortable. The balcony furniture looked like it had been outside for years. The beds were rock hard and sounded like they were falling apart. Doing laundry was handy, but the washer was extremely loud. The TV kept switching itself to another channel every few minutes. Photos and videos are attached. I was very dissatisfied. My original reservation was canceled the day before we left for vacation, and this was the condo I got stuck with. I won’t book through VRBO again. This is why I hate traveling.

The pools, hot tub, and other facilities were very nice, and the location and beach are things I love about Island Royale. Our unit, P 501, was clean when we arrived, but badly needed updating. For a six-person rental, we got only 3 towels and 3 washcloths, so with six people we had to wash them constantly. The beds were uncomfortable, hard in some spots and so soft in others that you sank way down. I’ve stayed at Island Royale before and liked it, but I won’t book that unit again. Other units have been much nicer, with more seating inside and on the balcony, and more comfortable overall. I’m used to rentals that are more up to date, with comfortable seating and beds.

My wife and I spent a week in unit #603 and absolutely loved it. The location is perfect, right on the beach, and we even spotted dolphins from the balcony one afternoon. Jason, the host, was terrific to deal with, very helpful and extremely responsive. Joe, the building security guard, was wonderful too. We’d highly recommend staying here.

The views are amazing from this very nice place. Restaurants, a convenience store, and a coffee shop are just a short walk away. The security staff are friendly and happy to answer questions. Just remember to bring your parking pass.
