This was the worst hotel I've stayed in, and I was very disappointed. Elevators quit working, other guests were loud all night, and room service changed only the towels, not the linens. There was no ironing board or phone in the room, and the refrigerator needs replacing. On the way back to the hotel, we saw two guests sitting outside with cans of beer. I've never seen that before. I live in Tennessee and our Microtel there is nothing like this one.

I had a pleasant stay at Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Gulf Shores earlier this month. The room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Getting around was easy thanks to the convenient location near restaurants and shopping, and only a short drive from the beach. Free breakfast and parking were appreciated, and it felt like good value for the price. I'd consider staying again when I'm in Gulf Shores. One thing to keep in mind: with the airport beside the Inn, aircraft taking off and landing may make it noisy during the day.

The grounds look really nice, but the rooms need work. I waited too long to write this and can't remember every detail, and I know the price is low. We did have lights that were out, though, and they never restocked the toilet paper. They wouldn't bring any up, so I had to go over to the front building and get it myself.

We had such a good time on our first visit that we're already heading back in two weeks. The beach is 3.5 miles away, but that drive is worth the savings. We weren't about to pay those high prices to stay right on the beach.

What we found in the room was nothing like what the online listing showed. There were stains and dirty spots everywhere, and two little cockroaches were crawling on the walls, the kind that can lead to an infestation. It was absolutely disgusting. If spending the night in a jail-like room sounds appealing, go for it.
