The sand is like sugar, so nice! We’ve been here several times with the Wifey and keep coming back. For the price, it’s an excellent choice. The room could have been a little cleaner, but it’s hard to find good help these days.

We stayed in unit 201 for two nights after booking through Airbnb at the last minute. The place looked decent and had five-star reviews, but we arrived at 12:30 AM to find a room that hadn’t been cleaned. I’m writing this here because it seems Airbnb won’t let you review a canceled reservation, even if you actually stayed. After seeing the condition, we told Airbnb and the hotel we wouldn’t stay the second night and asked for a refund for the unused night. Airbnb ultimately reviewed our photos and videos and refunded the entire stay. The hotel manager refused to refund the unused night. She said the unit would have been booked if we hadn’t taken it and that the hotel was almost full, but I checked availability and felt she was plainly lying. She brushed off the problems by saying it was an old unit and would have stains, and insisted the furniture had been cleaned. That was insulting since grime came off easily with a wet rag. She offered to have someone clean and said a hospitality manager would arrive in five minutes, but nobody came after 20 minutes. It was NYE and we had vacation plans, so I couldn’t keep waiting. She also offered another unit, but I had no confidence it would be any better. I was ready to formally escalate things because the accommodations didn’t meet basic cleanliness, habitability, and sanitation standards as represented when booking, which I felt breached the rental agreement. The unit looked merely tidied for appearances, with fresh towels and a made bed, but no real cleaning. The floors hadn’t been vacuumed, swept, or mopped, and had sand, dust, and hair. Dust covered the nightstands, headboard, and other surfaces. Furniture was heavily stained, one mark resembling old blood. I understand older furniture gets worn, but these stains weren’t permanent, and the pull-out couch was extremely uncomfortable. The bathroom was just as unsanitary: toothpaste water spots on the mirror, used soap in the shower, hair on the wall and curtain, and significant red mold on the curtain. The tub bottom was brown and filthy, and a wet rag showed it was built-up dirt rather than just staining. The bedroom was most disturbing. Under the comforter, the sheets had yellow stains, one resembling half a shoe print. I wanted to leave, but it was after 1 AM and we’d just driven 12 hours, so that wasn’t realistic. I went to the front desk for clean sheets and had to change them myself. The mattress cover underneath was even worse, with more bodily fluid stains. The replacement sheets were thankfully clean, but we slept badly in the very uncomfortable bed. My husband and I both woke with body aches and headaches, though he can usually sleep anywhere. One other issue: the Airbnb listing says the unit has a washer and dryer, but it doesn’t. Laundry is in a shared, pay-to-use facility. That’s fine, but listing it as an in-unit amenity is misleading.

Room 408 was very clean, the kitchen was nice, and the bed was great to sleep in. The floor is so slick that it needs some rugs. The couch and chair are stained, old, and worn down, with hard, worn arms. It could be a great room with some updates.

We had a great stay. The place was roomy and amazing, with the balcony opening right onto the beach and easy beach access.
