San Carlos 1201 by Youngs Suncoast

Condo 1106 was beautifully decorated and well kept, with lovely beach views. The beach itself was in good shape, and there were lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. We also enjoyed the gym and sauna. The staff were wonderful, the place was very clean and smelled nice, and there were good options for taking out trash. Parking was plentiful, though having to pay for it on top of the stay felt unwelcoming, even if that seems normal these days. We drove nine hours, but couldn’t get into the room before exactly 4 pm, when the door code arrived. Checkout before 10 am made it tough to have lunch before leaving. The pool was nice, but freezing and unheated. Still, I have no complaints about the condo itself.

We had a nice view, attractive decor, and a good layout, plus a washer and dryer that came in handy for beach laundry. Our stay was still lovely, mostly thanks to the nearby shops and beach, rather than the condo itself. In room 1506, there weren’t many supplies. I’d heard each unit has a different owner, and I think ours was managed by “Beach Ball Properties.” The microwave and main TV didn’t work, and the fridge wouldn’t make ice. We were told someone would come take a look, but nobody showed up. Neither a great nor a terrible stay.

The view from San Carlos penthouse number 5 on the building’s top floor, west corner, is great. It’s a large, nice condo at 2,000 square feet, and most of the furniture is really nice. But it needs upkeep and a thorough cleaning. The floor and rug turn your feet black, and the walls need paint.

Dan at the office was awesome and gave us wonderful recommendations. We loved the location of San Carlos Condos and had a great first visit to Gulf Shores. We’ll be back, and it won’t be our last time here!
