There are hardly any windows, and the place felt like a dark cave. We stayed a few nights in 111, and on our last morning they began construction in the apartment next door at 8am. For hours there was hammering, sawing, grinding, and a bunch of guys yelling and laughing. I contacted customer service, and they lied, saying they had no control over it and could only contact the HOA. We’re usually pretty flexible travelers, but the noise and timing were way overboard. None of the many buildings were occupied except ours, so they could have waited until the next day or at least started later. Find somewhere else to go.

This is about #103. We had a great stay, but then I was charged $200 for a broken glass table. A runner was already on the table when we arrived, covering a crack that was already there. The owner accused me of causing it, then said I must have taken a runner from a cabinet to hide the damage. I don’t know what cabinet she’s/hes referring to, since the runner was on the table when we got there. I explained that, but haven’t heard back and was still charged. How are guests supposed to prove they didn’t break something? Should we photograph absolutely everything before we even go inside? Even then, they can charge you, whether it was them running a scam or their cleaning crew that broke it. I’d like to know if anyone else who stayed at #103 was charged for the glass table. This seems fishy.

I booked this family vacation seven months ago because I wanted a balcony with a beach view. After driving for hours, I checked in today and found the rental under construction, with no balcony I could sit on. What am I supposed to do?

My wife and I have stayed here three times, and we’re coming again this year. It’s small, but that works fine for us. Great location, with a restaurant and grocery store in walking distance. We love it!

We had a great stay. The beach is just a 15-second walk from the door. There’s a great restaurant across the street, and you can drive easily to just about everything Gulf Shores has to offer.
