If you like getting away from everything, this is a nice, secluded spot outside Gulf Shores, Alabama. Just plan ahead, since the drive into town is long.

The private beach and quiet, tucked-away setting are what my family and I love. We’ve stayed here a few times now, and it’s been a good experience on every visit.

We had a dog with us, but this place isn’t pet friendly. The security guard seemed to be throwing his little bit of authority around. There were people smoking weed near the pool with kids close by, yet he chose to focus on our weenie dog, who wasn’t bothering anyone, except apparently his pride. Even being related to the condo owner didn’t help. His actions spoiled what had been a good weekend, and after this, they lost our potential condo sale. We’ll look at other places to buy. If you’re bringing a pet, stay away.

The condo was nice, and the woman who cleaned it was really sweet. I wish I’d asked her name. The walk to the beach was a bit much for my husband after his heart valve transplant, though he took his time.

We only needed to bring our food and clothes because the condo had everything we could think of. The furnishings and wall decor were lovely, and the owners made it feel like a warm, welcoming family home. We’d love to stay again.
