The location looked great in the online photos, but they weren't pictures of the unit we stayed in. The photos showed wood floors, while unit 102 had poorly laid vinyl planks that weren't attached securely. They also showed a spotless, welcoming place, but ours was dirty enough that we had to dust and clean before unpacking. The downstairs bedspread was so nasty we took it off and found other bedding. The photos showed nice wood stairs, but unit 102 had carpet over the steps that wasn't secured. Watch your step, it's a tripping hazard. The kitchen lights flickered constantly, and the dishwasher was connected to a light switch for some strange reason. We only figured that out on the day we left. The outside balconies had a nasty lean and felt wonky, like they could break away from the house whenever I stepped onto one. The outdoor pool was a cheap above-ground pool with a deck around it, and it was green and cloudy. I'd rather risk jellyfish in the ocean than swim in that pool. Upstairs, the bed squeaked with every small movement and made it hard to sleep. The air ducts were full of mold and dust. One had a towel rolled up inside above the washer and dryer to stop the airflow. My family has breathing issues, and everyone there had severe reactions. The dryer vent wasn't connected to the ventilation, so we had to reconnect it to stop exhaust from blowing into the upstairs bedroom. As we packed the truck, I noticed water in its bed even though it was parked under the house and it hadn't rained. Water was pouring from the ceiling. I'm no engineer, but the place seemed to have structural issues. At $500 a night after fees, this felt like a huge bait and switch. It's an overpriced, filthy, poorly run property and isn't worth it. Stay far away.

The Sands was clean and modern, with stylish furniture, a kitchen that was just the right size, terrific bedroom setups, and fantastic views. The location was amazing, the price was reasonable, and the service was outstanding. You won't find a better place to stay in Gulf Shores. 👍👍 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The location was unbeatable, with everything close by. We loved this rental, especially having our own pool and an easy place to rinse off after the beach.

We love staying here. Ours is unit 103, and some reviews seem to describe a particular unit instead of the complex, which can be a little misleading. The complex itself is small, family friendly, and really nice, with roomy, well laid out three bedroom townhomes. There aren't shared elevators or stairwells, so no one is walking past your bedroom window in a common hallway. The beach is across a busy road, but there's a marked crosswalk with a button, so crossing is easy. Public beach access, bathrooms, and outdoor showers are right across the street, which is a big convenience.

The owners seem to have put real effort into renovating, and the pictures looked lovely, but we were disappointed once we arrived. The condo wasn't clean: the master bedding had heavy stains, the upstairs bathroom fan was dusty, the vent was moldy, and the AC filter was so clogged with dust it looked like it hadn't been changed for months. We also found several electrical problems, including a dead light in the inside stairway, outlets that didn't work, and an electrical box in the master bath coming loose from the wall. The garbage disposal was broken too. The service company said several times that someone would come by, but nobody showed up, leaving us waiting and wasting vacation time. I wouldn't recommend this property.
