Courtyard by Marriott Gulfport Beachfront

The room had black mold on the bedside lampshades and bathroom walls, coming through from behind the wallpaper. The bath and shower were coated in soap scum, and there was rust and dust all over. Black hairs were in the tub and on the back of the toilet, and the air conditioner handler was dusty. The phone was so grimy that I blackened a washcloth trying to clean it before calling housekeeping. Neither housekeeping nor the manager was on site. I spent much of an hour trying to reach Marriott customer service and got disconnected by five different agents. I'm here for a business event at the hotel for four days and three nights, with no downtime. The front desk offered to move me at 9:30 p.m., but packing and switching rooms would take over an hour, and I have no chance to do it in the next two days. The sheets and towels were clean, but that was about all I could call clean. This is the worst Courtyard by Marriott I've seen, tired, tacky, and frankly disgusting. Breakfast isn't included, and a grilled cheese and soup cost $25. My girlfriend and I ordered the same thing, but her bowl had only a third as much soup as mine. Bonvoy this. 🫩

I paid $270 for one night, and if I'd seen the room first I wouldn't have paid even $50. There was black mold in several places, the bathroom floor was sticky from poor cleaning, and the AC unit was falling apart with rust all around it. I forgot to take a picture. This place is absolutely disgusting, hardly a hotel at all.

The Gulf view was awesome, and the beach is right across the street. The aquarium is nearly next door and easy to walk to. There was humidity in the air, naturally, with the beach right there. The hotel was peaceful and quiet, and the staff were nice and friendly. Our room was clean, and they brought clean towels when we asked. Coffee is included, and you can also buy it in the lobby. I had a great experience here.

Our room was upgraded and comfortable, with a beach view. It was a clean, comfortable stay with the usual Courtyard feel. The young man who checked us in was friendly and efficient. Thanks for a great visit!
