Northern Lake George Resort

The one good thing was the broccoli and cheese soup. It was excellent. Everything else about this resort was awful, and I stayed there in 2021. I'm only posting now because I just worked out the resort's name, but the service still upsets me. Don't stay here. There was no air conditioning, and the rooms got ridiculously muggy. The sheets had brown stains, the beds were stiff and rickety, and I couldn't sleep on top of the sheets because they were so nasty. The showers were stained and disgusting, and I didn't feel clean after using them. The dresser had four drawers, but two only opened halfway and the others wouldn't budge. In the closet were mismatched plastic Walmart hangers, the sort that come with purchased clothes, not a proper set. The place was filthy and full of bugs. I woke up with at least 30 new bumps on my arms and legs. The lanterns outside attracted bugs like crazy, and dead and live ones stuck to the blinds and door. We also found dead mice behind the dressers and mini fridge. They got into the drawers and ate our food. There were at least five across our two rooms. The boat dock was basically in ruins, and the signal was awful. The water got very shallow near the dock, and our boat got stuck on the rocks. The women doing laundry and taking out trash were very rude and had no sense of customer service.

The setup is weird: you order at the front desk, then stand around waiting for the food. It tastes bad, seems to be microwaved, and costs an insane amount.

I've stayed here for years and love the place, but they need to step up their game. There seems to be no mortgage on it, so please fix it. Get the mold out of the bathroom and repair that darn drain. The Villas could also use a large bowl for salad or chips. Very disappointed.

The lake view from the porch was nice, and the benches by the waterfront were a thoughtful touch, though some were broken. We wanted to enjoy beautiful Lake George, but the kayaks and canoes had no life jackets, and we couldn't find any. At $140 a night, we could have stayed somewhere much nicer and less like a cartoon mystery. The last minute room opening was appreciated, but once we arrived it was clear why it was available. The lodge rooms were very outdated, and the bathroom reeked of cleaning products. The porch was the room's only way to get fresh air since the bathroom window was sealed shut. We were told to bring our own towels because of covid 🤷. We'd been promised a king size bed, but got two twin beds pushed together on one platform. Jinkies, thanks for the free breakfast.
