Back for my second year in a row, and I'll be playing this gem again. Its reputation for lots of bunkers and fast, undulating greens is well earned. The course kicks my butt, and I love it. The staff are friendly, the range is great, and the putting green has the same speed and undulation as the course. Everything is well manicured. They always have cart girls out with well-stocked carts, and the pro shop has all the necessities. Keep up the great work.

The bathrooms were spotless and even smelled fresh. We stopped by the Clubhouse at the end of the gated Southern Dunes community while staying in a villa there. The place felt cool, clean, and welcoming, and the bar staff were polite. We got a couple of drinks and a quick bite, and the food was tasty.

The hills give Southern Dunes Golf & Country Club a distinctive look, and the clubhouse is beautiful too. Our group of four finished in just over four hours, so the pace felt quick, though maybe we got lucky. For such a nice course, it was great value. It’d be a good spot to meet a friend halfway between Orlando and Tampa for golf. I was playing here for the first time while on vacation and really enjoyed it. There’s a links-style feel that’s unusual for Florida, with elevation changes, tricky fairways, and deep bunkers. The course makes you think about placement and managing each hole instead of just hitting hard. Greens were in great shape, fast and true, and the higher holes have nice views. Conditioning was excellent, staff were friendly and professional, and the pace was solid. I’d play here again. It’s a memorable challenge whether you’re a serious golfer or just looking for a fun round.
