Colonial Brick Inn & Suites

The staff were fabulous and even made coffee for us in the morning whenever we wanted. The location is handy if you’re passing through, right off the highway and near a few small shops and places to eat. The rooms are basic, but the beds are comfortable. I do wish there were an outdoor spot for smokers, maybe in the back with picnic benches.

I got fresh towels every day, but the rest of the stay was the most uncomfortable hotel experience I’ve had. The pillows felt like bricks, and I wondered if there was even a mattress because the bed felt like a box spring. It was painfully hard. I’m only 5 feet tall, and my knees touched the tub when I used the bathroom. The pillow and blankets also had stains on them. I was so tired I didn’t have the energy to care.

We were about 15 minutes from where we needed to be, which was convenient, and the hotel is right off the interstate. The room was ready and clean when we arrived. I only stayed two nights and didn’t ask for service, but based on the room being in good shape, I’d give the service a 5. I’d stay there again.

There was no power in the room, and we couldn’t get it fixed because the front desk was closed from midnight to 6 am. We checked in at 11:30 pm, and they didn’t refund us. We could never speak to the manager. Completely unacceptable to be stuck in a powerless room with no way to fix it. The sheets were stained and had hairs on them too, though that wasn’t even the worst part.
