The toilet kept dripping and flushing on its own, and the bathroom door looked like it had been broken into. I was in room 105 for about 15 minutes after checking in for a three-night work trip before I left. The carpet was wet, cold, and filthy, the sink had toothpaste or something on it, and the sheets were worn through. There was no hot water at the sink. When I ran it for a minute, water leaked underneath into the already filthy vanity. The room was loud, smelled bad, and seemed unsafe. The alarm clock was plugged into one power strip daisy-chained to another, while the smoke alarm had a plastic bag around it. There were two peepholes facing the hallway, one marked over and the other covered with paper. I could hear the front desk employee shouting on speakerphone because the room was right beside the desk. There were also interior doors on both sides with deadbolts on the other side. I don't know where they led, though the desk was on one side. I travel a lot for work and have never left a hotel early before, but I checked out immediately. They offered me a different room, but I assumed the others would be similar. When I asked whether I'd be charged for all three nights, they said I couldn't check out until 9:30 the next morning and didn't know if I'd be charged. You get what you pay for here, but I'd stay somewhere else, or at least avoid room 105.

The clerk was asleep on the couch when we arrived to check in and wouldn't wake up. The place felt sketchy, and I wouldn't recommend it. The hotel listing said it was 16 miles from our venue, but it was closer to 40 miles and took an hour to reach, so we canceled the second night. We were still charged for it even though we had been told we wouldn't be. When I called about the charge on my credit card bill, the man more or less hung up on me and couldn't find my reservation. He said I would have to call corporate but wouldn't give me the number. I'm not especially picky, either.

We stayed one night after my wife had surgery, and some of her medication was stolen from our room while we stepped out for a few minutes to walk up and down the hall. The jacuzzi was closed by order of the county. If you're only after the lowest possible price, it might be okay, but otherwise it was pretty bad. Skip breakfast, there's a Kwik Trip not far down the road.

The second room had a door that wouldn't lock, so we had to brace it with a chair. The front desk staff were rude and no help when we spoke to them. We asked for a refund and to speak with management, but never got an answer. The first room was filthy, with garbage all over it and what looked like a line of cocaine on the dresser. I'd give this hotel zero stars if I could. We'll never stay here again, and I think it should be shut down.

The pool didn't feel clean, the carpets were old and stained, and the room and bathroom need a lot of updates. The TVs didn't work, either. It can do in a pinch, but I wouldn't stay more than one night if I had to. It's way overpriced for what you get, and if you have a choice, go somewhere else.
