Jay's Ranch

Travelocity refunded me quickly, which is why I’m giving two stars. Everything else was unsatisfactory. I’d booked more than a month ahead, then got word the week of my stay that the owner had canceled because guests already there extended their stay. I had to find somewhere else at the last minute. Be wary if you book here, even weeks in advance.

Super clean, comfortable rooms and lovely views over a quiet neighborhood. The host went above and beyond to look after us. I highly recommend staying here in CT, and I’ll definitely be back.

My wife arrived to find the door locked, with a number to call if you were locked out. The number ending in 2930 was answered by someone with a middle-aged-sounding Jamaican accent, presumably Keyena, also called Kay or Renee. We were turned away with no refund and had to book a hotel at twice the price on short notice. Expedia chat ultimately said Kay wouldn’t provide the code needed to release the refund, and that she had the funds. I called that robbery. I attached her voicemail recording and Expedia’s response. Don’t let this happen to you. EDIT: She refunded me after I had to press her through this review. The ID situation is a bit all over the place, so I’ll leave the recording here.

Renee made sure we were taken care of and was incredibly gracious and hospitable. The rooms were quiet and well kept. This is an affordable place tucked into a peaceful suburb, and the value was far better than what I’d expect to pay for what we got. When I’m back in Connecticut, this is the only place I’ll consider staying. Can’t recommend it enough.
