Hampton Inn Winfield

After eight hours on the road, this was just what we needed. Winfield is a small community with a few gas stations and restaurants, and the Hampton Inn made a great place to spend the night. It was clean and well kept, with friendly staff, excellent service, and a hot breakfast.

The room had USB and USB-C ports, a huge shower, a comfortable bed, and was clean. Staff were friendly, and breakfast runs from 6 to 10 a.m. The pool officially opens at 9, but when I asked, staff let me take a dip around 4:30 a.m. Also, that Cuck Chair is hilariously placed. 🫡🤣

Breakfast had plenty of choices, though the hot options were mixed. The cheese omelette was fine, and the sausage tasted good, but it was so tough I had to tear it apart with my hands. The biscuit gravy was basically just white gravy. There was also yogurt, bananas, apples, oatmeal, boxed cereal, muffins, and different kinds of bread. I posted pictures, including one of the pool, even though I didn't use it. The room itself was clean and comfortable, smelled nice without any lingering scents, and had good shower pressure. I liked the couch and furniture arrangement, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. I was enjoying the stay until 8:45 in the morning, when housekeeping knocked to ask whether we'd checked out. My husband answered, and she apologized, but it felt extremely rude. She could have waited until the 11:00 checkout time or checked with the front desk. I'd stay again, but I'd put out the do not disturb sign.

We came to Alabama for the first time for a weekend and found this hotel, one of maybe two in Winfield. We arrived around 10 p.m. and there was plenty of availability. The place was clean, the staff friendly, and the rooms comfortable. When we needed help, service was prompt. The continental breakfast had a good variety, too. We did have a couple of room problems. The fire alarm beeped in the first room, so we moved to a second one, where the keyless door lock battery went out. We were given a credit at checkout.
