Happy Stay Inn

This was the worst hotel stay I've had in a long time. The tub was filthy, the toilet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks, and the bedspreads had stains I don't even want to guess about. The window AC barely worked, and although the listing said there was WiFi, we had no connection all night. For what they charge, rooms should be cleaned by staff, not guests. I stayed over the 4th of July holiday. The woman owner handled check-in in the office and took the $70 we were asked to pay. As we were heading to our room, the male owner stopped us at the door, voided the whole transaction, and said the stay now cost $80. We were frustrated by the two different prices, but let it go and went to the room.

The owner was really rude, and there were roaches in the room. He wasn't friendly at all.

The room was clean, quiet, and easy on the wallet, and this motel allows pets. It was on the main level, a few doors back from the road. The king bed had four pillows, with two nightstands, a desk, side chair, microwave, mini fridge, and a nice cold window AC. My first room was marked non-smoking, but I felt ill as soon as I stepped in because of my allergies. I told the staff, and they moved me to another room.

I've stayed here often, so when I heard the property had new owners and a new name, I hoped they'd make improvements. The customer service and the energy going into the place impressed me. The new owners seem to be working to keep the motel affordable and accommodating. Thanks. Update: they're remodeling the rooms one at a time, and I'm impressed.
