Residence Inn by Marriott New Orleans Elmwood

I was only there for one night, but it was a pleasant stay. My early check-in request through the BonVoy app wasn't approved, though the front desk staff greeted me with a smile. The lobby and breakfast area were spotless, my room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The shower's water pressure and temperature were a bit inconsistent, but no big deal. Breakfast was enjoyable and nicely organized, and the little store downstairs has a limited selection but can be handy. I'd recommend the place.

The front desk check-in was cold and left a bad first impression. The representative didn't greet me, make eye contact, or show any welcome. The interaction felt transactional, almost rude, as if I were an inconvenience. Since that was how the trip began, I wouldn't come back. I hope management works on the customer service gap. That was a real shame because the property itself was excellent. I stayed at Residence Inn by Marriott New Orleans Elmwood on Thursday 12/11/25. The hotel was beautifully kept and exceptionally clean, from the common areas to the guest floor. My room was spacious, thoughtfully equipped, and everything worked well, so I was comfortable once I settled in. The building deserved five stars for its physical condition, but the poor service overshadowed those positives. Feeling welcomed and respected matters to me.

The room was very clean, and its layout worked perfectly for our family. The table with seating for four was especially handy for takeout. Staff were friendly, too. I was looking for somewhere close to city activities but with a quieter feel, and this suited us well. I'd definitely come back.

As soon as we arrived, the hotel looked like a quality place. The grounds and building seemed brand new and were very well kept, whether recently built or renovated. Staff were accommodating and treated us like family. It's easily a five-star stay for me, and we'll return.
