Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Hardeeville I-95

The cleaning lady was very accommodating, and one of the two people at the front desk helped me get the lower floor I had requested. The first person wasn't hospitable at all, so the service really depends on who's working. Getting food is very difficult from this location right now. Bucky's is being built across the interstate and is expected to open in 2027.

I stayed one night for work. It was quiet even though the hotel was fairly full, and both the hotel and room were clean. I only tried the breakfast, not the other amenities, and it was pretty basic. The location was OK, right by the interstate.

The room had a really bad smell, maybe chemicals or vomit, I couldn't tell. Opening the window helped a little. I'd checked in at 4:30 p.m. for one night and been quoted a rate with the AAA discount. It was still high, but after nine hours on 95N I didn't feel like looking around for another hotel. A couple of days later I found a $43 charge above the quote on my account. The hotel said it was an automatic hold for things I might buy during the stay, and that part was reimbursed later. Another $20 over the quoted room price was also refunded after I spoke with the hotel manager. I won't stop at a Marriott property again.

The room was really clean, breakfast had a nice selection of fresh food, and the customer service was excellent. My only reason for giving four stars is the smell in the carpet and hallway. They need a cleaning. I'd definitely stay again on the way home to Jersey from Florida.
