The George at Columbia, Tapestry Collection

The staff made a real impression: they were so friendly and attentive, ready to help with directions or quickly sort out any questions. Their care for guests felt genuine. We stayed for several days, and the hotel was even better than we expected. Our room was bright, spacious, and very clean, with neat daily housekeeping. The bed was comfortable and the linens fresh, so we slept really well. It was a lovely mix of comfort, service, and atmosphere. I’d happily stay again and recommend it.

Getting around was easy, with the subway just a short walk away, and there’s a lovely nearby park for a morning walk. The George at Columbia is a new hotel, and everything felt spotless, modern, and carefully designed. My room was very clean and comfortable, and I especially liked the cozy second-floor lounge for relaxing or getting some work done. A wonderful stay, and I’d definitely come back.

Emmanuel at the hotel’s little coffee bar was a lifesaver. He made delicious lattes and was so kind to my family and young nephew. The whole staff was magnificent, including the valet team, and really was the highlight of our stay. Ildris (spelling?) at the front desk made our long-term stay comfortable and went above and beyond to help. The rooms were lovely, very clean, and about as quiet as NYC gets. The price was amazing, and I won’t stay anywhere else on future visits. It’s right off the C line from Penn Station, so I could take the subway after arriving in the city by Amtrak. There are loads of food options nearby. Sipsteria was my favorite cafe, and Charles Pan Fried Chicken has my brother’s heart. We could walk to jazz bars, theaters, and pretty much anything you’d want. 12/10.

The room had lots of thoughtful touches: a spacious King Deluxe layout, robes and slippers, clever storage, and a convenient bathroom. The shower had rainfall, handheld, and foot-rinse options. Its sliding door made the bathroom feel like a steam room, though I missed having lotion and towel hooks. There was also a Keurig with Green Mountain coffee, plenty of outlets and USB ports, and a big desk for working. Even though I arrived hours before check-in, Jandell greeted me outside, helped with my bags, and shared a useful luggage-tag tip. That welcome set a nice tone. The lobby is beautiful, with a chandelier over the bar and cozy places to sit. The George Lounge on the second floor has a speakeasy feel, and the compact fitness center is well equipped. The pool wasn’t open yet, but it looks like it’ll be a great addition. The George at Columbia brings together Harlem charm and modern comfort, and I’d gladly return.
