I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. The TV freezes constantly, and I’ve told the office several times with nothing changing. I’ve seen a bug man spray exactly twice, but there are still roaches, so I sprayed my room as much as I could. The weed smell is horrible, and most linens have stains or burn marks. None of the drains have stoppers, and there are no smoke detectors in the rooms. They say they offer breakfast, but they’ve run out of milk, syrup, and oatmeal. They only start with cereal or waffles anyway. Door keys never work right. Some tenants also work there and all have access to rooms. Now there are flyers saying rates are going up. The rooms already aren’t affordable, and they’re definitely not worth $1,550 a month for a ground floor room or $1,450 for the second and third floors.

I stayed at the OYO for two nights and thought I’d found a bargain because the room was cheap and quiet. Then I woke up itching all over from bedbugs. The mattress was zipped into some kind of cover, which made me think I might not have been the first victim. I tried to get a refund, but the Indian clerk yelled at me and demanded respect. I thought that was rude. Beware, bedbugs are on the premises. Save yourself and stay somewhere else, not the OYO. I have pictures to prove it.

Some rooms need upgrades, and cleanliness can be hit or miss. I’ve found half-full beer bottles under the bed and chairs, plus makeshift ashtrays left in the nightstand. Just FYI, it seems to be the non-English-speaking team that leaves rooms in disorder, rather than the older woman.

I’ve been here nearly a month now, and I’d stay year-round if I could. I’m here because I had to leave the house I was renting after it was sold, not because I failed to pay the mortgage. I’ve never slept as well anywhere else. There can be noise, but once I’m asleep, I stay asleep. My little dog has settled in too and knows where to go. The place works for me: the TV, refrigerator, microwave, and hot water are all fine. Coffee is available around the clock, and sometimes there’s still fruit out later in the day or at night. They change my bed every other day. When I leave used towels and rags in a bag outside my door, I come back to find clean ones hanging there. Jimmy is friendly, though sometimes people think he’s rude because they can’t understand him. That’s just how he is, and once you get to know him, it makes sense. His brother and wife are always warm with me too, waving and calling out when they see me. I’ve read some complaints in the reviews that didn’t make sense to me. Maybe those people expected a Holiday Inn. For what I pay by the week, it’s a good price, and I really like it here. They’re cleaning the rooms and fixing things up to make the place better.

I had to miss my reservation for personal reasons and couldn’t contact the property. I understand a fee, but charging me for the room when I never checked in is outrageous. That’s $63 of my hard-earned money. Calling it policy doesn’t make it any less ridiculous. This feels like a scam. May God have mercy on you.
