We were glad to find an affordable place to stop on the way to Oliver Springs Tennessee, but we won’t stay here again. We’ve already told our friends to avoid it too. The reviews should have warned me. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but the negative ones were right. Our smoking room smelled awful. There wasn’t a coffee pot, and although the woman at check-in kindly brought one, it was dirty inside and we had to clean it before using it. The TV kept cutting in and out with static. There was no toilet paper or hand soap, and the toilet barely flushed. After my husband showered, the water took 45 minutes to drain. It was so backed up that I couldn’t shower. When we pulled back the bed covers, we found an unknown sticky substance underneath and had to put them on the floor. I didn’t raise all this at checkout because another guest was already complaining and staff were rude to her. We needed to get on the road. I hope they improve their standards, because what happened matched the reviews.

I checked in around 9:30-10pm Friday and woke at about 4am Saturday to find cockroaches in the bathroom. I checked elsewhere and found more. I looked for bed bugs too, though hopefully there weren’t any. I called the front desk, and the man working said I’d have to wait for the manager at 9 because he couldn’t do anything. I packed up and left by 4:30am, even though checkout wasn’t until 11pm. I slept in my car until around 9. The person I spoke with then, who called himself the manager, was rude. He said I should have come down at 4am to move rooms and challenged how he could know I’d slept in my car. I suggested checking the cameras, but he said that would take too long. He said he couldn’t issue a refund himself and that I had to contact the booking agency so he could confirm it. After I called them, he said he wasn’t the manager and I’d have to wait until Monday. He said at one point I could have gotten another room, then later claimed all the rooms were full. He threatened me by saying, “don’t make me angry.” The service was awful and he was completely unhelpful. I asked him to call the actual manager because apparently she had to decide about the refund. He told the booking company there were no roaches and that I’d stayed all night, even though I have pictures and had left hours earlier. He wouldn’t give me the real manager’s number and said I wouldn’t get a refund, even Monday. He claimed he didn’t know how to process one, but while I was waiting for the booking company to call or email, I watched him refund an older couple almost $70 right in front of me.

We got a really affordable rate through priceline, and the hotel was quiet, almost like a ghost town, and very clean. I worried the price might be too good to be true, but I ended up not wanting to leave. There are lots of local places that deliver, the bed was very comfortable, and the shower had amazing water pressure. When we arrived, the sweetest woman greeted us at the front desk along with a very nice gentleman. The place felt cute and clean when we walked in. Our king room had three pillows, a table with two chairs, a mini refrigerator, and a microwave. There was also a hair dryer, iron, and ironing board. Don’t let the low price put you off. It’s worth the stay.

This was the most unsanitary place I’ve ever stayed. At first glance I could see bed bugs in different sizes, and there were black stains on the bed. It looked like the sheets hadn’t been changed in months. The woman working there denied they were bed bugs and was rude and unapologetic while squishing them with a card. The toilets weren’t clean, there was gunk in the sink and old food in the fridge. Just gross. Stay away.
