Hampton Inn Harrison

I'm looking forward to seeing the place once the work is done. Right now, remodeling is the main reason for my low rating. The rooms and hallways are being redone, and during my last visit the room numbers were lying on the floor. There was no strip under the doors to block noise, so you could hear everything happening nearby. Breakfast isn't served hot on site. You have to walk across the parking lot to the Holiday Inn, though they do offer breakfast to go in the lobby. I've heard several times that this is supposed to change, and I hope it has by my next visit.

For what we paid, the place was okay, and the front desk kindly let us check in about 40 minutes early, even though the hotel was empty. They made sure to mention more than once that we were getting one of the newly remodeled rooms on the second floor. The beds and pillows were still awful, and the outlets by the nightstand didn't work. Service was decent. The ice machines were out of order, and there wasn't anywhere to pick up snacks or drinks unless you paid $2.75 for a bottle of water. Ridiculous. If you can stay somewhere else, I probably would.

Breakfast was a big part of our stay. There were omelets, link pork sausage, smoked sausage, biscuits and gravy, cereals, fruit, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, toast, bagels, and muffins, plus a waffle station with different flavors and toppings. Kristina kept the breakfast area spotless and was very helpful. Mary greeted us as soon as we came in and checked us into a clean, comfortable room. We'll stay again next time we're in the area.

Mable was a real bright spot when we checked in. The rest of this visit wasn't as good as last year's, maybe because of the renovations. With both waffle makers broken and no juice, the price felt too high for what we got. That was the only positive this time.
