Americas Best Value Inn

I went there in the middle of the night, exhausted and in the rain, while fleeing domestic abuse by a family member and trying to get safely from RI to CT. I'm 64, disabled, and recently widowed. I called ahead around 1:30 am, but when I arrived, they said I had to pay another $90 to get into the room. I didn't want to, but I paid. The place had seemed like a middle-priced option among the others. The first room had bugs crawling in the bathroom and on the toilet, then two huge cockroaches ran across the sheet when I pulled back the bedcover. I rushed to the office and asked for my money back. The man refused and offered a better room. I went in with my camera, found the same kind of mess, and took pictures. I left immediately and waited at the McDonald’s next door, under a lit wall by the drive-through, until morning because the manager was due in then. The manager also refused a refund and offered his best room. I saw the same repulsive situation and photographed things crawling on the walls. A couple of days later, I still hadn't been refunded. I've reported it to my bank and the Dept Of Health, and I'm looking for a lawyer. This has caused me a lot of emotional and financial abuse that no woman should have to endure. I didn't bring in any luggage, just my purse and dinner, which I threw away. I would never recommend this place. Turn around before going in, and please tell everyone you know to stay away.
