Residence Inn by Marriott Hartford Downtown

The room was clean and the staff were friendly. I liked the unusual loft-style setup and how spacious it felt, plus the kitchen had great appliances, including a full oven. Some furniture looked dated, and the bathroom door didn't fit its frame properly, but neither issue affected my stay.

The buffet was decent and pretty standard, though there weren't many vegetarian choices. The hotel and furniture felt old, but our room was clean, service was good, and the staff were friendly. I think they're in the middle of renovations. We had a great stay.

The best part was the staff. Everyone at the front desk and breakfast was so welcoming and kind, and whoever we spoke with was a great Marriott’s Ambassador. I hope they get a raise for being so professional and helpful. The room, with its living area, bedroom, and kitchen, was spotless thanks to the cleaning team. The bathroom had strong water pressure, shampoo, body wash, and a hairdryer, and breakfast was fine. We were across the street from the wedding at the Society Room, with the Wadswotrh Atheneum just steps away and Buschnell Park nearby. Guest parking was convenient too. The odd bit was the color scheme in the halls and rooms, which felt a little early 80s, haha.

The staff were welcoming and very professional. I love the loft-style rooms with kitchens, and the location works well depending on what you're planning. I'd definitely come back.
