Hilton Garden Inn Hattiesburg

Christina was so naturally friendly when she checked me in late at night. I had a sleeping toddler with me and kept going back and forth to unload; she joked with me and made me feel special. I asked at the last minute for a first-floor room, and she was happy to accommodate. She also helped me figure out the remote and had a great selection at the front desk. The room was big and very clean. I loved the cute nightlight in the bathroom since I'd forgotten to bring one. My only tiny personal gripe is the sheets were so wrinkled I could actually feel the creases.

The rooms were good, the place was clean, and most of the staff were efficient, responsive, and really helpful. Leslie at the bar in the evenings was especially great. But if you want breakfast, plan on going elsewhere. We watched business travelers order omelets, wait 45 minutes, then leave. Their omelets came out 10 minutes after that. We told the morning breakfast person we'd take the food they'd ordered so it wouldn't go to waste, but he held onto it for another 15 minutes before bringing it over. That breakfast employee is hurting the business. Avoid breakfast, at least until he's gone!

My room had a poor view because of where it was located, but that barely affected the stay. As a team member, I was kindly given an upgrade, and the room was spacious, spotless, well cared for, and had a wonderfully comfortable bed. Holiday decorations throughout the hotel made the warm, welcoming atmosphere even nicer. Everyone I met on staff was pleasant, friendly, and genuinely helpful, and the whole stay went smoothly. They clearly take pride in the property and pay attention to the details. I really enjoyed my time at the Hilton Garden Inn in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Everyone we dealt with, from housekeeping to management, was professional and courteous. Ms Christie checked us in politely, but our first room was very small and not accessible for someone with a disability. The front desk got to work on finding us a suitable room right away. Day referred me to the manager, Ramon, who kept working on it through the night and promised us an accessible room the next day. When we came back from our event Saturday afternoon, we were able to move into a much more spacious room with an accessible bathroom. My one complaint is that breakfast wasn't included. Ten dollars is too much for a piece of fruit or a bowl of grits.
