La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Hattiesburg - I-59

The biggest problem on my latest stay was how poorly the room had been cleaned. It hadn't been vacuumed, there was hair all over the bathroom, and I had to wear sandals in the shower. The hallways smelled like a pool, and noise from upstairs made it hard to sleep. The rooms and amenities need maintenance and renovation. Pet fees have also gone up to $25 a night, which wasn't charged before. The location is central, the price seems like good value, and they take dogs. But even with the low rate, I don't think what you get is worth it. A hotel costing only a little more has cleaner, better rooms. I won't stay at this one again.

The staff were welcoming and professional, and check-in was easy. Our room was spacious, cozy, and clean, with a firm bed and pillows that I liked. It did have a bad odor and didn't pass my dust test. Breakfast was hot and delicious, though oranges were the only fresh fruit. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

The staff were friendly and understood the problem, but for what I paid per night, I expected more from a La Quinta. It's a very old hotel that badly needs updating. Our first room had a couch with heavy staining; after we complained, they moved us, but the second room was only a little better.

The staff were super friendly, which was the one bright spot. We were moved to a second room after complaining, but it had the same problems. Mold in the bathroom had been covered with caulk, the floor was grimy, the comforter was stained, the headboards were even more damaged than before, and the chair was repulsive. When I filled the tub, black sludge came up from the clean out drain. The bathroom was so humid that the light fixtures were rusted. The first room was just as bad. The bathroom corners were moldy, and its door looked patched up and painted in mismatched colors. Furniture was scratched, ripped, dented, and neglected; the curtains were stained, the pillows were tiny squares, and dust and rust covered the lamps. Even the old entry door looked decades old. When I tried the wall switch, only a dim bulb by the door came on, so I had to fumble around and turn on each lamp separately. This place is filthy, neglected, and falsely advertised. I can't imagine how it has positive reviews unless they're for a different property. Don't stay here. It's revolting.
