SpringHill Suites Los Angeles LAX/Manhattan Beach

The breakfast was the most frustrating part. The room gets packed, and the food they put out is so unappetizing and poorly managed that I cook better half asleep. They should just scrap it. Only one elevator was operating, and it took forever to arrive. Waiting around was frustrating, so I ended up taking the stairs, which are awkwardly located. The rooms were great, the washroom was nice and spacious, and I had no complaints there. The room was properly stocked too. There was plenty of parking, though it was paid.

The staff were polite and very friendly, but that’s about where the positives end. I’ve stayed at a number of SpringHill Suites locations, and this one was just fine. The rooms feel dated, and the hallways smell musty and smoky. One elevator is out of service, and from the sign on the door and other reviews, it seems to be an ongoing issue. The location is okay, with some places within walking distance, though you’re walking along narrow sidewalks beside wide boulevards. There’s no shuttle to LAX, so it’s either a 20 minute walk to the light rail or an Uber. The fitness room is quite small, and the breakfast is mediocre. I wouldn’t stay again unless I got a particularly good deal.

Take the breakfast and mattress out of the picture, and the hotel was good :-) The mattress was horrible, and breakfast tasted bland, like at most similar hotels. I was surprised the coffee was bad too, very strong and pungent. The room was an ordinary size, about what you’d expect from similar places.

It’s fairly quiet here, which I liked. The hotel is a bit isolated, so things aren’t necessarily within walking distance, but it’s close to the airport, making it a great choice for that. The property is clean and well maintained, and the staff are really nice and friendly.
