Penn Terrace Motel

A quiet, very nice place with clean rooms, an affordable price, and a great view. The owner lady is so sweet and nice. I highly recommend the motel for a relaxing stay.

After a vehicle accident, the tow truck brought me here while I was in a lot of pain. I asked for ice to make a pack for my shoulder, and they said there wasn’t an ice machine. They gave me four cubes from their own kitchen, which lasted about 45 minutes. When I went back for more, they said they had none. The next day I couldn’t rent a car in town, so I asked the man at the front desk if I could stay in my room a couple extra hours until my ride from Ohio arrived. He charged me $65, nearly the $88 I’d paid for the whole night. They were rude and didn’t seem to care about guests, just the money. I’ll never return, and I strongly recommend others avoid it.

By far the worst motel stay I’ve had, even after traveling three or four times a year. I booked an overnight trip in October, and the online photos were nowhere near what we got. The room had bugs and mold, holes punched in the drywall, and cigarette burns on the comforter. Staff were rude and talked down to me. The TV reception was awful, with lines across every channel. I can’t imagine how this place was operating in the United States in 2017, and I’d give it negative stars if I could. Don’t be fooled by the low price; I’ve since found nearby motels that are much better for only a little more. Try a Motel 6 or red roof nearby. Any positive reviews must have come from the owners or their friends. Don’t stay at Penn Terrace.

The bed was fine and this place came through when nearby hotels were booked or too expensive. It’s old and worn, though. The air conditioner sits at the back by the bathroom and didn’t move cool air around the room very well.
