Denali Park Hotel

The place feels very old and has a lot of maintenance that seems to have been put off. We found a dirty washcloth in the bathroom, rough sheets, and stained towels. There was a fridge, but it wasn’t plugged in, so while we waited for it to get cold our food warmed up. What I liked most about the location was the nearby 49th State Brewery, where the food and atmosphere were excellent. There’s also a gas station and grocery store close by.

We’d stay here again. The price and location were just right for us, with Denali and restaurants a short 10-minute drive away. It met our needs, and the staff were so helpful and willing to go out of their way to make sure we had what we needed.

We saw a moose wandering behind the property early in the morning, right from our room window. We stayed for two nights while walking in Denali and taking tours, and the park is only about a 10-minute drive away. The room was spacious and had what we needed, including a bathroom, fridge, and coffee machine. It’s near the road but far enough from Denali’s hustle to feel peaceful. The Wi-Fi barely reached into the room. It worked near the check-in area, at the door, and even in the car outside, but not inside the room.

There’s good food at the brewery about a mile from the motel, and staying here keeps you away from the craziness near the park entrance. It’s only around nine miles from Denali, with plenty of parking. The room was clean, the shower was warm, and the bed was comfortable. It’s close to the road but still quiet. Also, I saw a MOOSE in the parking lot while packing up in the morning.
