Loreley Resort

Helen is a real treasure, and we’ll definitely return. We booked this stay through our timeshare exchange, and it surpassed what we expected. The staff, grounds, and condo were all wonderful.

We spent a week here with family, and I’d stay again. The river view was lovely, and we enjoyed sitting on a swing beside it. The kids loved the playground, and the basketball court was nice too. There were plenty of grills and a firepit. The balcony was roomy and looked over the outdoor pool and playground. We could walk into town easily and did so every day. The resort has quite a few amenities, though the pool and spa areas were wet from the cold weather and humidity. Both the pool and spa were a good size. The rooms felt a little dated, and I did some light cleaning when we arrived, but the place was cozy. The main bedroom was small, just enough room for a queen bed. Staff were great, and it looked like renovations were underway.

The Chattahoochee River runs right by my room, with beautiful views and wildlife that can be fun to watch. I often see people fishing, and it’s very peaceful here. The town is old, so the rooms are a bit dated, but that adds to the character. I’m enjoying the heated indoor pool, and there’s also an outdoor pool when the season allows and a large hot tub. The room came with lots of useful extras. The fridge even has an ice maker, which is new to me, and the kitchen has everything from potholders and garbage bags to dish towels, detergent, and dishwasher pods. It’s a charming, lovely place, and I have no complaints. This was my first visit, but I’d come back for sure.

The river rushing over the rocks was wonderful to hear and see, and the landscaping was beautiful as far as I could see. It’s a quiet resort, with plenty nearby and within walking distance. We were there with family and had fun, but we probably won’t return. The heat also kept us from enjoying the outdoors as much as we’d have liked. Inside, the condos are seriously dated. The mattress springs seemed to have given out around 1990, wallpaper was peeling, and the bathroom popcorn ceiling was coming down. The living room layout wasn’t very comfortable for hanging out. The tennis court lights never came on while we played, so we had to stop earlier than we wanted. I rated service a 5 because I didn’t deal with staff myself, someone else in our party checked us in. For what it’s worth, this town and area aren’t very dog friendly. We also ran into awful fly problems while eating indoors at nearly every establishment.
