SKYLARANNA Resort & Spa

My daughter and I had a wonderful afternoon at the spa. We started with spa passes before our massages, enjoyed unusual tea and exotic snacks, and spent time in the sauna and steam room. The space was incredibly clean, with a calming look and feel, and the service was very personal. We each had a Swedish massage with different therapists, and both were outstanding. Highly recommend.

We stayed two nights while my RV was being upgraded in town, and I’m so glad we did. The A-frame cabin had a beautiful mountain view, surrounded by nature, and our pup loved walking in the woods. I also had one of the best massages ever at the spa. I wish the restaurant had been open so we could try the food. If you want a traditional hotel with the usual front desk routine, this might not be for you. But if you like somewhere unique and beautiful in nature, don’t hesitate. Anna was super sweet and helpful. We’ll stay again if we’re back in the Asheville area.

We live locally and came to Skylaranna for its “Brunch with Santa” event. It was so sweet, and the buffet worked well for kids and adults. Story time with Santa was adorable, and decorating ornaments was a great idea. I brought my twin three-year-olds and my five-year-old, and they raved about it. Christina was a sweetheart, and all the staff were welcoming and helpful. We’ll recommend Skylaranna to our friends!

A “boutique resort”?! You can’t be serious. There’s no front desk, which might have been fine if Kevin had responded in a timely way. We got early check-in after he said the room needed a quality check, but when I called back, he said it was ready and would cost another $35. For what? We were charged $40. When we first entered, we let the 15-plus live and dead stink bugs slide and went out for the evening. At 10 PM, nothing on the TV worked, and texts and calls to Kevin went unanswered. We ordered DoorDash, then discovered our door lock didn’t work and anyone could walk right in. I tried to reach Kevin again. When we pulled back the sheets, both beds had long hairs, a dead bug, what looked like a poop smear, a blood spot, and pubic hairs. We’d had enough. A woman working an event downstairs acknowledged the sheets were unacceptable and confirmed the lock was broken, but just made excuses for Kevin and the property. By 11 PM, we had no choice but to leave and find another hotel. A refund should have been automatic. Customer service clearly isn’t a priority here. The two nights and the $40 should have been refunded. Read the negative complaints and think carefully before staying. You can spend your money at a real resort and spa instead of falling for the false advertising.
