The bed was comfortable, though its height made it hard to get into. I also didn't hear the trucks from the truck stop behind the hotel, but there was plenty of road noise. Still, I probably wouldn't stay again. I paid $75 for a single-person, non-smoking room, and the accommodations felt more like they were worth $50. Check-in was poor. Even though it was still daylight, they used only the night window, and it was the same when I left in the morning. The furniture was tired and worn. In the shower, the curtain rod fell on my head twice, the water pressure was awful, and the soap and shampoo came in little pouches with about half an ounce of product. I wasn't impressed.

It was really peaceful, and both the staff and the rooms were great. Everyone was friendly, and the room was clean.

My wife became very sick from the heat during our bike trip to Carlsbad NM, so we stopped at Budget Inn. Before I'd even checked in, the owner had gone to a room and turned on the AC to make her comfortable, and there was plenty of ice. The owners were fantastic and a big help. I'll stay here on my next trip through.

I've been here for six weeks now, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable, comfortable place. I travel for work and usually cut costs on hotels, which often means insect-infested rooms with utilities that don't work. At Budget Inn, though, I got a good price and a clean room I was glad to come back to after a long day. The owners are really nice and have been willing to help with anything I've asked for or needed.
