This was the last room in town, but if I could choose again, I'd sleep in my car. The manager was extremely rude and hostile. The TV was small, with a poor selection of programs, and the Wi-Fi was pathetic. Appliances in the room were broken. Half an hour before checkout, the cleaning staff barged in without knocking. Horrible.

The place was too expensive, smelled of pee, and had bedbugs. I went to Duluth for the weekend, but after looking around, there were no vacant decent places, so I felt I had no choice. The lady on the phone quoted a price that was already high, then it cost even more when I arrived. By then I was too tired to keep driving. There were also some weird people on the stairs drinking beer, talking, and laughing all night.

The Skyline Motel's manager, Lori, was the nicest, but both places had no swimming pool, workout room, or continental breakfast. At Skyline, the room had a computer monitor for a TV, a mattress with no support, and stained box springs. The air conditioner didn't work right, there was no water pressure, and the room smelled like a dog or cat had peed in it. I'll leave a review for this My name is Earl style hotel too. Our vacation was the worst ever, with false advertising, an uncaring clerk, and a rundown motel that took our money for a room they knew had a problem. Now we have to chase the missing credit. We had first booked at the Voyageur Lakeview Inn, owned by the same people, for a July convention, booking in December. They put us in a delux room with broken air conditioning, despite knowing about the problem, according to maintenance man Aaron, the nicest person there. The room was tiny, the bathroom had no leg room at the toilet, the shower had no light, and the sink was low enough for a midget. No parking, lots of small stairs, water leaking from other rooms' air conditioners, and a pool of water by the ice machines. No elevator or anyone to help with luggage, even though I mentioned my bad knees. The 16 year old at the counter didn't seem to care that we'd driven 500 miles to a room with no air conditioning that was much smaller than advertised online. We didn't stay. Audra was supposed to credit our account. Aaron helped us find a room at the Skyline Court Motel in Hermantown's.

They advertise it as 'apartments', but it was $750 for a motel room for a month. I was between my house and new apartment during the polar vortex, and the heat was out. The manager told me to buy a space heater. The management company just seems to be trying to turn a dollar.
