Comfort Inn & Suites Hermiston South

My husband stayed here for work. On his previous stay, he found earwigs in the bed. This time there was blood on the sheet, so staff changed it, but then he noticed blood on the blanket too. They said it would be easier if he brought the blanket down to them.

Friendly, helpful staff and warm, tasty free cookies were the bright spots. The breakfast selection was okay, though the “coffee” at the bar came from concentrate. The hall carpets need replacing and the room carpet looked dingy. There was mildew in the shower and a lingering dusty smell. We’d been looking forward to the pool, but it was green, so we didn’t even check it out. That’s about where the comfort ended.

I paid onsite after booking through Travelocity for two work nights. At checkout, the desk person asked about a receipt, confirmed my email, and said she’d send it, but nothing arrived. When I called, the hotel said Travelocity had to provide it. Travelocity said the property should issue it. I called the hotel again and got a rude response telling me to contact Travelocity; Travelocity then said they’d call the property themselves because the property should issue the receipt. The phone staff were very rude, and this shouldn’t be so difficult. My card was also charged more than $50 above the Travelocity price, with no extra charges and no minibar or restaurant. If you stay here, make sure you get a PRINTED receipt before leaving. I won’t use this property again after all the stress and time spent trying to get a receipt for my charges.

After a 30-minute drive to find another hotel, I was still dealing with tired babies in the car. I had reserved a room here, but at arrival they told me with a bad attitude that they only take resident people and not people from other places. That restriction wasn’t in the booking policy. This is beside a freeway and gas station where big trucks stop to rest, so travelers might need a room. It was a really bad experience, and I had to book somewhere else.
