Holiday Inn Miami West - Airport Area by IHG

The shuttle was a hassle. We waited over 30 minutes, then had to call the hotel so they could contact the driver. After traveling and standing in the sun, that wasn't much fun. Getting around is otherwise convenient, with a shopping area next door, Target about 10 minutes away by Uber, and the port around 30 minutes away with no traffic. We stayed on the second floor. The place is spacious, but the rooms feel outdated. The bathroom looked worn, had very little lighting, and no fan. Breakfast was just average. The bed was soft but comfortable. I was tired enough to fall asleep, though I normally wouldn't on a soft mattress. Early check-in was nice, the lobby was decent, and they held our luggage while we waited by the pool. I'd stay for one night, but not longer.

The beds were really comfortable, and the room was reasonably clean. The staff were very friendly, with no issue at all about their attitude. My review is about communication. As of 21 Feb 26, the website gives the wrong airport transfer pickup information. It directs guests to the second floor, but pickup is actually on the first. We waited on the second floor for an hour and called the front desk twice to confirm, and neither staff member mentioned the correct floor. Eventually we gave up and called to say we'd take an Uber, which was disappointing since transfers were a main reason we booked. Only then did the desk staff tell us we should have been on the first floor. With the time difference, my body thought it was 3am, so the delay was especially frustrating. The website needs correcting. Until then, staff need to give people the right information so nobody else waits for a bus that isn't coming.

The staff were very accommodating, and the pool was nice, though there wasn't much seating. We didn't try the food. The beds were comfortable, and the sheets looked fresh, clean, and fairly new. The room was run down. The carpet was stained and dirty, the shower pan was old and stained, and the toilet seat was worn out. The gym also needs an update.

The staff were nice in the little contact we had with them, and the beds looked clean with no obvious problems. But after one night, I didn't feel comfortable staying longer. There was a strong, strange chemical-like smell in the room. The floor was disgusting. I took my shoes off and walked into the bathroom, and the bottoms of my feet got filthy. The area around the tub and toilet has seen better days too. The coffee maker was broken and leaked water from underneath. Just wanted people to know before they stay.
