Holiday Inn Express & Suites Miami - Hialeah by IHG

The staff I dealt with were friendly and great. The room was spacious and nice, but the lighting was so dim I could barely see. There weren't enough towels, and the ones I had ended up soaking up water from the shower, which leaked all over the floor. There were other issues, but I'll leave it there.

The room was spacious, and the shower was nice. Breakfast was basic but fair enough, and both the fitness room and pool were OK. Noise was the real problem: the window doesn't block it at all. If you're a light sleeper, avoid this place.

Roosters outside start crowing at 4 AM and keep it up for most of the day, so anyone hoping for a good night's sleep should stay elsewhere. The staff are very polite, and Ron the day manager is outstanding. He really cares about guests' comfort. I still give it five stars because the roosters aren't the hotel's fault. When I asked at the front desk, she said they don't know where the birds come from, they just show up.

The pictures don't reflect the condition of this place. The downstairs lobby looked clean and had nice chairs and a store, but the elevator floor was nasty, with walls smeared with some unknown liquid and marked with scuffs. In the room, the carpet was dirty, doors were chipped and scuffed, the shower was filthy, and the bed frame still had trash from previous people on it. There was dust, and the light fixture had been torn off the wall. Caulking around the windows was all over the place, and outside noise came right through. There was also pee outside. I haven't tried the pool and am debating whether to stay at all. With the state of the inside and the smell outside, it was like going to New York. Don't recommend.
