Palacio Inn Motel

The bugs were what really did it for me. I saw one run across the nightstand, opened the drawer and found more, then opened the mini fridge and saw bugs in there too. I didn't want to touch anything. The mini fridge was about the only extra, despite what had been advertised. There was no airport or cruise port shuttle, either. The clerk checks people in from behind a glass wall, sliding out a tray for your ID, which says something about the neighborhood. The old building looks like it's had a lot of repairs that don't quite fit together, with rough edges everywhere. My room curtain didn't fit the window and was falling down. The bathroom faucet sprayed in all directions, and the tub looked so dirty I thought I'd need sandpaper to clean it. The AC/heater was very old and loud, and the buttons were worn, but it worked. I'm used to budget motels without extras, but I didn't want to spend my second reserved night here. They refused a refund. If I could give a negative star rating, I would.

This place wasn't worth what they charge, even as a last minute option. Everything in the rooms seemed dirty or old, and when I checked the towel before drying off, it had black curly hairs on it that definitely weren't mine. I was absolutely appalled. The area felt sketchy, and a homeless person asked me for money inside the lobby. Just awful.

The floors were clean, but everything else felt dusty, broken, and disgusting. The sheets were thin and old, and the bed and pillows were so uncomfortable. I paid 100 for one night, which was way overpriced. It was noisy, with people yelling all morning and traffic all night because the place is so close to the road. Parking was very limited and uncomfortable. The only good thing was there was no carpet. Stay away.

I had a couple of small roaches in my room, and mosquitoes bit me all night because the swamp cooler wasn't sealed to the wall. The door was also hard to unlock: I had to wiggle the knob and turn the key the opposite way. At checkout, the manager asked for the TV remote, which I hadn't been given when I checked in. He then reprimanded me for not asking for one, though I don't watch much television. I'd recommend going to another hotel.
