We’ve already been telling friends about McGregor & Main Lofts. Our studio was lovely, modern, quiet, and thoughtfully finished, with clean lines and enough space to feel like a treat after exploring the Black Hills. It was affordable for the quality, too. The location beneath The Wind Winery is a real bonus. We could walk downstairs for a tasting, enjoy American-grown grapes like King of the North, or stop at the wine bistro for excellent flatbreads and a good range of craft beer. They make King of the North into a lovely blush wine with a floral bouquet and a balanced sweet-dry finish. It feels approachable but distinctive. Local partnerships added to the stay. Dakota Seafood from Rapid City hosted an oyster tasting while we were there, an unexpected, fun event that reflected the area's creativity and community. With tastings, food, beer, and special events close by, the lofts felt like a curated getaway. It’s a comfortable, elevated home base for couples, solo travelers, or anyone looking for something beyond typical Black Hills lodging.

A rare find for a Black Hills trip. McGregor and Main Luxury Lofts has soaring ceilings, a beautiful kitchen, comfortable beds, and a striking architectural design. It made a lovely home base for Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, The Crazy Horse Memorial, and the Badlands. The Badlands are a bit of a drive, but close enough for a day trip. Hill City has good restaurants within easy walking distance, and Rapid City is only about 35 minutes south by car.

Being right downtown meant we could walk to all the shops and restaurants. The loft layout worked perfectly for our group, and we even popped downstairs to pick up some delicious things from With the Wind Winery. Everything was clean, tidy, and well stocked. We had a great stay and would definitely return. I’d recommend it to anyone.

We came from Wisconsin for a quick trip without our UTV, and wanted to stay downtown Hill City instead of at a ranch. The Lofts at McGregor and Main turned out to be just right. Lisa kept in touch throughout and made us feel welcome, like friends or family. The Loft was beautifully decorated, spotless, and had everything we needed to get started. It feels like a big-city place, but still has a quaint feel that suits Hill City. We loved the town, its shops and restaurants, and our stay here. Thanks, Lisa, for such a wonderful place. We’ll be back and will recommend it to our friends.

The McGregor and Main Lofts are in a perfect spot for exploring Hill City’s bars, cafes, shops, and the attractions outside town. The place is stunning, with first-class attention to detail, a well-equipped kitchen, and very comfortable beds. There’s secure entry to both the building and your Loft, plus dedicated parking onsite. The people in Hill City are so friendly. I’d highly recommend staying here in South Dakota.
