Cedartree Hotel Portland Hillsboro

We brought our kids for one night and all of us enjoyed the calm, comfortable feel. Cedartree has a simple Wabi-Sabi style, with no flashy decor, just thoughtful design throughout. We love Japanese food and design, and it really delivered. Breakfast costs extra, but the quality was excellent and worth it, especially for the reasonable price. A peaceful hotel with great food. We’d come back. We’d been weighing it against some familiar hotel brands and are glad we tried something different. Cedartree feels like a hidden gem.

The traditional indoor bath was the best part of my stay, and the Japanese theme was a pleasure. The rooms have a traditional Japanese home shower and bath setup, plus an imported Japanese bidet toilet. There are even Japanese snacks for sale in the lobby. The place is clean, quiet, friendly, and in a safe location. I enjoyed myself despite spending half the stay working in my room. This hotel has made me dread my future hotel stays, and I might return to the area just to stay here again. For a relaxing getaway, it’s a great choice.

My room had that fresh, just-built-home smell, and felt especially clean. The property is beautifully kept, with a Japanese-inspired style that was a lovely surprise. I only wish I’d been able to check in sooner and spend more time enjoying the amenities. Breakfast was excellent, and the salmon stood out. I was really impressed by my one-night stay at Cedartree.

I’ve stayed in over 1,500 hotels, and this Japanese hotel feels unlike any of them. The bathtub and shower were the standout for me. The tub is deeper than a typical American one, and the showerhead and wand are separate from the tub. I’m 6'3", and the shower was well above my head. Fantastic place. I’m definitely coming back.
