Knob Hill Motor Lodge – Hillsville

A car engine problem left me stranded while traveling for work, and this little motel in Hillsville, Virginia was a quiet, private, relaxing place to land. Gary and his wife were incredibly kind and welcoming. I can't say enough good things about it. A hidden gem if you're in the area.

I stayed two nights at Knob Hill just before Christmas, and it covered the basics that matter to me: a clean, dry room, plenty of hot water with good pressure, and a comfortable bed. The mattress was actually better than the $6,500 Tempur-Pedic I bought 2 years ago. For the price, you absolutely can't beat it. Other amenities depend on what you're paying.

I'd booked through a booking site that mistakenly said the hotel accepted pets. When I arrived, the gentleman told me they didn't, and I got frustrated. He stayed calm, called the owner, and pulled some strings to make it work so I could get a room. Whoever that front desk guy is, he's extremely friendly and went above and beyond to help. Thank you.

For two nights, this was a pleasant little getaway 😊 The room was clean and nice, the WiFi worked well, and the man who checked me in was very friendly.
