We came for our annual Wednesday-to-Sunday Thanksgiving trip, and the start was beautiful. Then on Thanksgiving Day, the owner upstairs in B12 began hammering and drilling. It kept going through the holiday weekend, and the noise got louder and more constant. My daughter finally banged on the ceiling in frustration because the work was right over her head. The owner came down and asked if they were disturbing us. My husband said yes, and reminded them we were staying through Sunday. The owner said they’d stop for the day, then start again Friday through Sunday. My husband contacted the rental agents to explain how upset we were and that the trip was ruined. They said they couldn’t do anything because they didn’t own every unit, though they offered to try contacting the owner. The hammering and drilling continued. I understand that owners have rights, but I wonder what the HOA rules say about construction during peak times when guests and other owners are there. We paid over $1200 just for lodging, and got very little help, no offer to move us elsewhere, and no consideration or communication. I’m writing this Saturday while trying to have breakfast with my family and the noise is still going. Customer service shapes the whole experience, and this was awful enough to ruin an annual family celebration. We won’t use this company again, and they need to do better for renters. I’ll update this if there’s more to add.
