Coral Sands Resorts by Palmera

My stay from March 19-26, 2026 made clear how far Palmera Resorts falls short of real resort standards. Compared with other timeshares I own and how often I travel, my experience has been extremely disappointing. The stay lacked cleanliness, security felt inadequate, and customer service overall was poor. The sales pitch included promises and assurances that haven't been kept. What I was told doesn't line up with the reality of ownership or the experience. After returning, I tried several times to reach the company by phone and email and got no response. Ignoring legitimate concerns is unacceptable. Anyone considering buying or booking should do their own research into customer complaints, ratings, and any legal issues that have been raised. From my experience, there's a serious gap between promises and delivery, and I'd strongly urge people to think twice before committing.

The staff are 10-plus. Sylvia, the manager at Coral Sands, is exceptional, and Addison and Joselyn are great too. It's nice to meet people who enjoy their jobs and always greet you with a smile. Kate Walker, the concierge, has lots of information and good suggestions for places to go. Coral Sands is an awesome vacation spot.

We've vacationed here for many years and made our reservation and plans almost a year ahead. Then, just a couple of days before check-in, we got confirmation that the pool and lazy river, their primary amenity, would be closed for renovation. We hadn't been told earlier, so there was no chance to change our plans, and when we called, the resort offered no compensation or credit. Last year, the hot tub and kiddie pool were unavailable during our stay, again with no advance notice. Two years in a row, this feels like a bait-and-switch and a slap in the face. Extremely disappointing.

The rooms and facilities were excellent, and I'd return. The Island location is convenient to beaches, shopping, restaurants, activities, and attractions, all within short distances.
