The outdoor covered wraparound deck overlooking the wilderness area was a favorite, especially the four-person hot tub and outdoor dining. The place was very clean, had comfy beds, and was in a nice location, just a short walk from the beach. It also lets us bring our two large dogs. A few pots and pans need replacing because the Teflon is peeling. Jim and Margot, the property owners, communicate wonderfully. We’d definitely stay again at 40 Night Heron.
Night Heron Villa’s location is ideal, and the facilities are nice, including a beautiful pool. It’s reasonably priced for the space, and the beach is a short, private walk away. But the villa didn’t seem well kept and needs a deep clean. We found small bugs in corners and saw two cockroaches. Pest control apparently hadn’t been there since January of 2021, which may explain the bugs. If the place were deep cleaned and the bugs removed, I wouldn’t mind staying again.
We booked and paid through VTrips Hilton Head months ahead after finding the property with a pet-friendly filter. When we arrived, they told us to leave because we had a pet and kept our money. Apparently the unit we’d rented didn’t allow pets, which was confusing. The welcome packet refers to a pet policy, and the refrigerator instructions mention no smoking and fines, but don’t say pets are prohibited.
Small, lovely cottages with great views and a great location. Just right for a small family.
